Brain and Entropy

Workshop, Beijing Normal University, the State Key Laboratory of Cognitive Neuroscience and Learning , Dec 25,2021

Entropy is a scientific concept as well as a measurable physical property that is most commonly associated with a state of disorder, randomness, or uncertainty. Characterizing brain entropy (BEN) may provide an informative tool to assess brain states and brain functions. Dr. Ze Wang (2014) proposed a fMRI-based Brain Entropy Mapping for resting-state fMRI using sample entropy and created a Brain Entropy Mapping Toolbox named BENtbx . Meaningful results were shown by BEN mapping in brain functionality studies in normal brain as well as in diseased conditions. Click Brain and Entropy to learn more.
